LifeClass Hotels & Resorts is the first Slovenian international hotel chain. In 2004, the Grand Hotel Palace in Portorož was the first to break the news of this new brand name to the world. Although the LifeClass Hotels & Resorts trade mark is rather new, its hotels are well-known thanks to their over a century long rich history and exemplary hospitality. And from this grand union, LifeClass Hotels & Resorts, a new key player within the luxury hotel segment, was born. It all started in 1891, the year in which a hotel management company was first founded in Portorož together with a bathing and a spa health resort. In 1912, the Kurhotel Palace (the Old Palace Hotel) was built. Today, the Old Palace Hotel is still the very symbol of Portorož.

The opening of the old Palace Hotel brought tourism in Portorož to its full bloom. Pleasant Mediterranean climate, beneficial effects of the air, the salt and water convinced many a restless and adventurous soul to stop and stay with us.
